Stressis your body’s reaction to a challenge and can help motivate us to complete our goals. However, prolonged and severe stress can be overwhelming and cause turmoil in our bodies and minds.
Sometimes, stress can be a result of pre-existing mental illnesses and can be a sign you need to reach out and seek help from a professional.

Our principal psychologist, Mary Magalotti, and CEO and Founder, Jodie Brenton, have spent a career helping individuals manage the stresses in their life. Advice from Mary Magalotti and Jodie Brenton on Dealing with Stress
A common cause of stress is conflict in our personal lives. If there is an argument with a friend or partner weighing heavily on your mind, address the problem directly with them instead of constantly worrying to yourself.
Another part of life that often causes stress is work, especially if you have trouble leaving work at the office. Take time out to relax after work and remember work problems can be dealt with later.
If you can find a pastime you enjoy, this will go a long way towards reducing stress. Take up something new that keeps the anxieties of life at bay.
Try to exercise regularly, as physical activity releases endorphins into the body and can take your mind off whatever is troubling you.
The amount of sleep needed to stay healthy varies, but seven to nine hours is recommended for most people. If you do not get the amount of sleep required, your chances of feeling stressed and anxious the next day increase.
Remember to reach out and seek professional help if stress becomes an overwhelming issue for you. There are dedicated counselling services that can help.
